The First Visit

  • We excited to get to know you and your family!

  • We will take records including a digital scan of your teeth in order to analyze them in 3D (no more goopy, doughy models that can cause gagging)

  • We take photos and 2 xrays which show us the position of all of your teeth and jaws. One of these xrays is called a panoramic xray. If you have had one taken recently at your general dentist or pediatric dentist’s office, please let us know so that we can request it prior to this very important first visit

  • Dr. Natalie Capan will review these records carefully with you explaining what orthodontic issues she sees, how she would recommend treating and also the timing of treatment (this is a visit where it can be helpful to have all caregivers present. It is much easier to answer questions while looking at the records together than addressing them after the visit)

  • In rare cases, a CBCT may be necessary to fully analyze a more complicated orthodontic situation. We have a CBCT unit on site in order to streamline your treatment and avoid the need to visit another specialist to take this xray. This way, we are able to give information about your situation and treatment faster and more efficiently. If a CBCT is needed, there is a charge for taking and reading this xray.

  • We’ll go over the costs of treatment. We want to make this easy for you so we have flexible payments plans with no finance charges to be able to pay for your treatment over time. We are also able to determine your insurance coverage if you provide us with your insurance information prior to the visit day!

  • We may even be able to start measurements for the start of your treatment the same day!
